Seven routes to enjoy on two wheels in Sicily: one to the west, three to the center, two to the south and one to the east.
Seven legs of a journey stretching over more than 230 kilometers and an ascent of almost 5,000 meters. A perfect path to train soul and legs to tackle another historic European trail: the Camino de Santiago.
A quite appropriate analogy, considering that these routes start and end near ancient convents (in history, always a place of pilgrimage), even though, in our case, we selected trails that can be traveled by bicycles, have low traffic volumes and feature breathtaking landscapes. To best tackle the seven itineraries (on average, 33 km per day), hikers should be in good shape and have a good racing or tourism bike.
All trails can also be accessed in offline mode, by downloading the “Franciscan Trails” App. Moreover, along the Trails, you will find everything cyclotourists need: Bike Beds, Risto Bike, Bike Bars, bike shops and many more useful services.
Finally, for all trails, it is possible to get in touch with local cycling associations or just enthusiasts with whom to share emotions concerning adventures on two wheels.
